Q.: HOW MANY SONGS CAN I UPLOAD ONCE I HAVE REGISTERED?
A.: As a Silver member you can upload 2 songs at any given time once you have registered. All you need to do is sign in using your username and password and you will go straight to the upload page where you can select one of the options to add another song to the site.
As a Gold Member, you will have unlimited uploads available
Q.:WILL PEOPLE BE ABLE TO DOWNLOAD MY WORK?
A.: No! your work is only available to listen to, it will not be possible for anybody to download your music from here, the only place your music can be heard is on this website.
Q.: IS THERE A LIMIT TO THE SIZE OF THE MP3’S I UPLOAD?
A.: Your mp3 files must not exceed 60mb. The average mp3 is around 5 - 10 mb so this will not be a problem. DJ's uploading mixes should note this size restriction as 60mb will allow you a mix of around 7 songs. Please be patient when uploading, a normal 5 - 10 mb mp3 will take around 5 minutes (depending on your internet connection). Larger files up to 60 mb could take up to an hour!
Q.: I DON’T KNOW HOW TO UPLOAD MY MUSIC, CAN I STILL REGISTER AND PUT MY MUSIC ON EMUSICUNITED?
A: Yes of course you can, if you have your music already on your computer then it is easy, simply sign in, and on the upload page you can browse your computer until you select the desired song to upload, then click on OK and it will be done for you.
If you have music on a CD you need to copy it to your computer before you can upload it, alternatively you can post it to the address given on the upload page and our staff at emusicunited will upload it for you. We regret that CD’s cannot be returned unless you provide a stamped addressed envelope.
Q.: I ONLY HAVE MUSIC ON A CASSETTE, HOW CAN I UPLOAD IT?
A.: If you have your music on a cassette, then you can send it to the address given on the upload page and our staff at emusicunited will upload it for you. We regret that cassettes can not be returned unless you provide a stamped addressed envelope, however if you would like to receive your music back on a CD please enclose a cheque/postal order for £5
Q.: I HAVE NO BANKING FACILITIES CAN I STILL REGISTER AT EMUSICUNITED?
A.: Yes you can, you can still send payment in the form of cheque/postal order, however all payments made this way must be for a years subscription, your account will become activated as soon as cleared funds have been received, you will then be able to upload as much as you like.
We will notify you when your subscription is due for renewal.
Q.: CAN I EDIT MY PICTURES AND DETAILS AFTER I HAVE REGISTERED?
A.: Yes you can, provided you are signed in you will be able to change any pictures or text that you have uploaded, You will not be able to change artwork that is uploaded at the same time as your music, only pictures that you have added to your profile. If you want to change the picture that you uploaded with your music you must delete the desired upload, and upload it agian with the picture you wish to replace it with. The only information about yourself that cannot be changed is your username.
Q.: CAN I REMOVE 1 OR ALL OF MY SONGS FROM EMUSICUNITED IF I WANT TO?
A.: Yes you are able to remove as much as you like whenever you like by logging in to your account and making the changes you require.
Q.: HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO REGISTER?
A.: Silver membership is free! Gold membership is £2.50 per month, but at the moment we are offering our members a discounted annual rate of £20, this is a saving of £10 over the year. This is a huge saving compared to the cost of creating and sending out demos to various places. If you register at emusicunited you can email anyone and invite them to hear your music.
Q.: I’VE FORGOTTEN MY PASSWORD, WHAT DO I DO?
A.: Please, go to sign up page and click "Forgoten Password" link . You will then be asked to enter you login name. Password will be sent to your email then.
Q.: I’VE FORGOTTEN MY USER NAME, WHAT DO I DO?
A.: Please, contact support leon@emusicunited.com
Q.: WHAT DO I DO IF I WANT TO CANCEL MY SUBSCRIPTION TO EMUSICUNITED?
A.: If you chose to pay using your credit/debit card, you can cancel your subscription with PAYPAL at any time.
Or by contacting us and requesting to cancel your subscription
Once you have cancelled your subscription to emusicunited, any work you have previously uploaded will be removed.
Q.: I CAN SING BUT I DON’T KNOW HOW TO RECORD MYSELF?
A.: This can be done in many ways,
1) Record yourself using a microphone and a cassette recorder (a backing track is not essential, it is your voice that you want to promote after all)
2) If you are a singer, it is possible that your local karaoke night will have the facilities to record you as you sing
3) You can also get your tracks recorded at a recording studio to produce a CD which can then be uploaded to emusicunited
4) There are many software packages available for your computer which allow you to record straight on to your computer. There is some FREE software available at http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ which is easy to use, providing you have a microphone.
Q.: I AM A DJ, HOW CAN I UPLOAD MY MIXES
A.: If you want to record your mixes from vinyl, the easiest way is to use the free software at http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ You can record your mixes using this software and then upload them to emusicunited.
Alternatively you can send your cassettes to the address provided on the upload page and our staff will upload your mix for you FREE of charge.
We will not be able to return any cassettes you send us unless you provide a stamped addressed envelope, however if you would like to receive your mix back on a CD we can provide this service for you at a cost of £5 to be sent in the form of cheque/postal order with your cassette.
Q: I AM NOT GETTING EMAILS FROM EMUSICUNITED
A: Please check your junk box, some inboxes with spam filters will put un-recognised emails in here. If you find an email from Emusicunited in your junk box, please mark it as "not junk" to prevent any future problems, thank you.
Q: I CURRENTLY HAVE 2 UPLOADS AVAILABLE, HOW CAN I GET MORE?
A: This is easy, simply sign in and click on "My Account" then click the "Make Payment" option at the bottom, you will be prompted to make a payment, either £2.50 per month, or £20 per year. After doing this your account will have unlimited uploads!
